We offer agent for service of process service for corporations and limited liability companies in California. We are a registered Private Services Company with the California Secretary of State. We charge a flat yearly fee of $150.00. If you have not filed a statement of information or need to amend a statement of information to change your registered agent services to The Law Offices of Lin and Wood we can provide that service to for a nominal additional fee. The fee to file a Statement of Information is $25.00. Your business cannot act as its own agent for service of process. The function of having a registered agent is to provide a legal address in California where there are persons available during normal business hours to accept legal service or notices in the event of a legal action or when documents need to served.

There are a number of unscrupulous companies out there that advertise that you must pay fees of up to $495.00 to file various documents with the California Secretary of State. This is absolutely not true and you should not pay these fees. You do not have to go through a private or third party vendor to file official documents with the California Secretary of State. In most cases we will charge you the filing fee, usually around $25.00 or less depending upon the document, plus $60 for over-the-counter filing. Over-the-counter means we will have the document filed the same day and receive confirmation of the documents filing. Over-the-counter filing is faster than sending in the documents by mail. You can always file a document by mail with the California Secretary of State.

The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding state holidays. There is also a regional office located at 300 South Spring Street, Room 12513, Los Angeles, CA 90013.
